Yea that does suck, I put a hundred bucks a week in, just to work and back. I don't know I am going thru a mid life crisis, not happy with anything lately, work sucks, Made my mind up on a whim to go to Arizona for 12 days. We have friends and family there. Now there all wound up we are coming out, going to show off there silencers to me,, which will **** me off even more cause there illegal in Jersey. This state sucks, between the property taxes sky rocketing oh yea fireworks are illegal in Jersey too. I think it's just where I live is the problem. and never enough money. bottom line.
also illegal now to blow smoke out your diesels tail pipe...
working on it.. got the driver side 98% back together... just need to put the glow stick harness on... oil dip stick tube... fuel lines... and fix the stripped out threaded hole for the valve cover bolt... passenger side still needs to go back in.. then i can put the ac box back together and re-attach everything there...

Well Neil You know exactly what I am talking about, let the new guy's handle those, you just grab the **** and run in, do the fun part. Than let the probies clean up and overhaul. After I hurt my back No more inside work for me! So they have a full time driver for the first due engine, rescue, or the ladder. Whatever is needed I will bring, even if I'm second due and have to pump a hydrant. We use Humat valves, drop 2 3 inch lines, then tie into the humat with the front suction and pump the 2 3"ers. If it's big we call Maxi Water, an older Hann we have, Large diameter discharge and over 2,000 feet of 5 inch. Only 1 time in 20 years in the fire company I dropped the whole bed, during a warehouse fire in Asbury Park, we got called in mutual aid, for the ladder to cover the B side of the building, anytime our ladder goes we bring our own water source, at that time I was the engineer on 78 maxi water, backed up 10 blocks to the fire, drop the manifold, they took the stinger off her, and I went to find a hydrant no one else was taking water from, All 2,000 feet plus a couple pony rolls to reach, front suction, and 2 3" off the side of the hydrant. Even with that friction loss my luck held true, just happen to find the only hydrant in the area that put out more than 2,000 GPM, was on a 36" main. Pumped everything she had, should have had a higher compound gauge reading but after the bulk of the fire was out I had a fire police member watch the truck, I wanted a close up, Found out they split the 5" off the manifold with a Y and feed our truck and Asbury's truck, took 2 3" off the manifold and feed a Wanammassa engine to a portable monitor, and the last 2 3" were used on a Wayside Engine to feed 2 2" hand lines. All the other engine's took the closest hydrants which were all on the same source a 6" main. A 70 year old man with a grapefruit for a prostate could give a better stream. And Asbury is a full time paid department. No common sense, ya no one likes to clean up and pack all that hose but we could have lost the whole block, you know buildings right next to each other. Insane. Have a good day Neil, keep them boots out of the fire.
