Differential Oil to use 6.8 V10 ?

Having the covers powder coated and with 110miles figure I would have the shop change the oils, gaskets etc as well.

was going to use the Mobile 1 Full Sny 75/140LS in rear and 75/90 in front.

Any thoughts out there ??

Yes

Don't bother coating the rear though. Get the '08 finned aluminum one instead. Ford part # 8C3Z4033A

Nope, not that I have seen. I just bought a new stamped one for cheap and gave it a nice paint job. Used stainless fasteners on both ends.

Thread I made with pictures

Don't miss that the fastener at 4 o'clock is an allen head...

I got the aluminum Ford cover and used a Lube Locker gasket.
And Schaeffer oil.

I have the Mag-Hytec Front and Rear covers. Plus I use AMSOil:
Front Diff SVGQT 5 quarts + 1 tube ADATB
Rear Diff SVOQT 6 quarts + 2 tubes ADATB

Having the ability to check, change and add fluid without having to remove the cover was my big reason for going with the Mag-Hytec. Plus they allow for more fluid in each diff.

'08+ rear diff cover here, stock steel front cover both with Lube Locker reusable gaskets (No RTV!) and Mobil 1 oil of the correct weights in both.
I also have a temp sensor in my rear diff adapted to fit in the fill port that feeds a signal to a GlowShift Engine Oil Temp gauge, I have seen up to 225 degrees towing on a hot day.

Those of you with Mag Hytec covers.. Do you use a gasket or sealant? I have both covers in my shopping cart along with Lube Locker gaskets. Just want to ensure a leak free install. Thanks

Because I live in the south and humidity is very high I use Yamaha outboard gear case lube because of the rust and corrosion inhibitors in the lube. Add in the LS additive and it works good for me.

The Mag-Hytec covers use an o-ring to form the seal. I didn't use any other sealant and I don't have any leaks.

Thanks. Built in oring just seems too good to be true, but for what they cost it should work.

Don't the mag-hytec covers warp over time with changes in temps over the years? Thought I read something about this a few years ago.

No issues from any of my three (front, rear and transmission pan).

Also the fill and drain plugs have o-rings as well.
