6.0 no start...

Hey everyone.

Trying to help a buddy diagnose a 06 f250 6.0. Hes a couple hours away and his truck wont start. So far he has put in a new ficm (46.8v with weak batteries), checked for bubbles in the fuel bowl, checked hpop pressure(700-900psi while cranking), new filters, checked fuel pressure, unplugged icp with all these tests coming out good. He checked for codes and no faults are stored. I told him to check the ipr for tears, but after that, im out of ideas.

What else could he look at here? Has access to a scanner that supports pids...

As Watson said!

Check for synch! The camshaft and crankshaft sensors are usually the bad guys if there is no synch

Icp koeo: .43v
Icp cranking goes to 1.63v
Ipr % while cranking shoots to 85 then after a second drops to 45-50.

Ficm isn't synced and neither is the cam crank sensors. Cranking shows 165 rpms on scanner.

Icp pressure goes to about 1200 psi while cranking.

Have egr codes p0404 p1335. Cmp fault p2614 and crank position sensor circuit fault p0335.

Cleared faults and cranked about 20 seconds and faults p1335 for egr and p2614 cmp signal faults returned.

Getting a fuel pulse width signal? Pulse width defaults to 0 w/o CKP signal, RPM below minimum spec, or low ICP.

Since you seem to have an rpm reading and good ICP values, it sounds more like a possible cam sensor/wiring issue (ie it doesn't seem to be an issue w/ the CKP, but then the P0335 is an interesting code - not common). Bear in mind that the P2614 can simply come from extended cranks, but you need to get to the bottom of the issue w/ "no cam/crank sync".

The P0404 is just a "low EGR flow" code. Could come from a number of things. With a P1335 though, it could actually be a bad valve. Has he tried starting it w/ the EGR valve unplugged?

We found that the cam sensor was the culprit in this endevor. He called me up thanking me because he couldnt get those faults or data with his scanner. Thank you for the help folks.
