Well I started doing some metal replacement on the F1. 4 months ago I bought a cheap english wheel and a sheet of 18 ga steel and just turned my sons loose to learn it. I fiqured i was too old to amount to any greatness on it but they could have fun with
it. Well here are some results.
Looks good. I had good luck with these metal clamps. They create a 1/16 margin making it easy to MIG. Tacked inbetween and welded up a little at a time hammering the welds and going slow enough to let the metal cool down. Another first for me too.

I think the secret is to teach sometimes and play dumb sometimes so they can try to out shine you. The day they made some great fittings pieces i came home to 2 excited boys that just about carried me to the garage.
