First post -- Hi!
Just wanted to say hello, I hope to get to know you all and look forward to exploring this vast set of information!
A little about me: I am in the IT field, but no, I won't fix your computer! I am in the Dallas, TX area and just picked up my second truck, a copper '50 F1.
She has a Mustang II suspension, manual rack and pinion steering, relocated fuel cell under bed, bags on the rear (assumed for towing in a prior life?), power brakes, disk brakes up front, and the kicke... a Chevy 350 w/ 400 Turbo transmission. I know, go ahead and shame me, wasn't my choice but she runs great and will allow me to enjoy the beautiful look until I can aford an engine swap back to Ford parts!
She has a pretty nice interior, AC and a radio, although I have a hard time hearing the radio over her straight pipes! All guages work and the updated tilt column makes for a pretty comfy ride; power steering would make it all that much better!
First updates I will make are keyless locks; prior owner didn't have a key for the door and a $60 LMC keyless set was hard to pass by!
Anyhow... I am here for the long haul and can't wait to get my hands dirty!

Welcome to FTE! The best place on teh web for these trucks.
First off, we don't belive you got a truck until we see pictures. Or we just really love seeing pictures of these trucks....one of those two.
There are quite a few guys here that have the chevy 350.We still talk to them most days.
You are correct in wanting to drive it a while before doing too much. We love to know these trucks are on the road. You don't want to be like me and have a 30 year rebuild plan.
Edit: I type slow. You have three posts in a row asking for pictures. Get the hint
By the way. I'm an IT guy as well, application development side...well just got a new job (with the same employer) and a funny title; Enterprise Information Architect. Kind of opened ended title.

I have a small oil leak that I will be trying to track down in the near future... also, never got a door key from prior owner so hope the keyless entry allows me to lock it up! Anyone ever install a system like this before? I haven't searched yet, but will do.
Bed is sheetmetal... kinda want to revert to the wood bed, all in good time i suppose!
Paint looks good from about 10 feet away, up close there are a few runs and some swirls in the paint. Has fiberglass fenders and running boards, not really a problem but the mounting points between the front fenders and the running boards has cracked a chunk out of the running boards... no doubt someone stepped on them up close to the fender.
To be honest, I wasn't excited by the copper color until I got her home. I had hopes of repainting her all black, but maybe I will let the color sink in a bit more!
Thanks,

That is a nice truck, now all you need is the secret handshake and your in. Just kidding your already in. As already stated this is a very special site, very friendly, lots of very experienced people that will help you any way they can, I look at the members more as friends than anything else. So a warm FTE welcome from Northern California .
