I have a 1997 f150 4x4 4.6 and a 1999 same which was rusted out. I took the running works out of the 99 (engine harness,tranny harness, chassis harness & PCM and put it in the 97.It would not start due to the pats. So i changed the pcm and it would crank and seems to run fine. Now i find the air bag system is totally different on the two and the tack, oil & temp gauges are not working. My mechanic says i need to put all of 97 wiring & pcm back on and start over. My question is the wiring is different in the tranny harness how do i cure that problem? I failed to mention the TR Sensor plug is different as well. All help appreciated.

 

You can get a new TR sensor plug. The other wiring that is different just involves moving some pins in the hardshell, if I remember it correctly.

 

Thanks Mark. I am new at this wiring thing, would i take the 99 wiring harness which has the right TR plug and reconfigure it like the 97 or can you do that? Or can you take the TR plug off the 99 wiring harness and put it on 97. I have read a lot about guys messing up their Tranny's because the wiring was wrong. Do you think i am on the right track the way i am doing this? Any help appreciated.
