Yeah, no tear-down pics - but I guess these tell ya what needs done to get to this point (after the engine is out).

This is an '03 E-series engine so yes, PMR's. Only 47k miles on it!!

Looking good. About to have my motor out and will probably do the front cover seal. Thanks for the pics. How are you going to get the HB back on?

So you tore it down to this point for rod/bearing crank inspection? just curious cuz I have an 03' E-Series motor as well.

Nice find with 47K!

You got screwed. That engine is upside down. You need one that's right side up.

Get some good shots of the windows in the cam gear so we can all use them later when we're talking CPS issues, hall effect sensors and what not. Might even roll it to TDC (upside down center in your case) just so the windows are clocked right.

Posts with pictures are always better. Thanks for sharing.

Nah, just wanted a clean paint job.

Ok, either that or the front cover was broken at the oil cooler...

I hope it was a good find. It's been in a crate in a barn for several years.

I had to pull the front cover off the old engine. Here is a shot with water pump removed.

The inspection cover, EBP sensor and fuel filter bolts were removed here.

And in this shot the filter and HPOP have given up their spots.

Here, the harmonic balancer is being persuaded to leave its home.

This front cover has been installed on the 'new' engine. Guess I need to take a pic of that.

I've also gotta swap driver-side exhaust manifolds since they are different on the van. Of course, there is one stubborn bolt on the old engine... Tomorow, it will meet my friend the sawzall!!

I'm getting pretty close to this point in my build and will be removing the front cover for a small oil sweat. I may have a bunch of Q's for you in the near future if that ok.
