1988 F250 died about 5 months ago while running. pumps do not come on when key is turned. have run through all the basic tests for fuel pump relay, eec relay, i have spark, i have good fuel pressure with the relay bypassed to turn the fuel pump on. have tried a junkyard eec but at this vintage it's probably got the same problems as i think mine has. test light behind the tan/green wire on the fp relay doesn't light up when cranking (but has a tiny glow even when not cranking) so i'm about to take a chance on a rebuilt eec. However, some of the posts i've read about getting the right one, i believe from Subford (thanks for your great advice in so many posts i've read, btw) mentioned that you need your calibration numbers or program code off the doorpost to get the right eec. when you go to order one, however, all it asks for is your basic engine, tranny type, year, maybe your old eec number off the box. what am i missing? (also is there another test i don't know about to narrow it down to the eec?):-
F250 w/460 cid auto trans. existing eec is E7PF=12A650-C1A, calibration sticker says 7-98A-R10 with AFZ in the lower right corner of the same sticker.
