Engine dies when releasing throttle
My new van, 1994 E150 conversion 5.0 engine, has the following issue. It seems to idle and run OK except when I start up the driveway. I need to give it a little more gas to get started moving, once it starts moving and I take my foot off the gas it dies. It will start right back up.
Any ideas?
If it matters, the air injection check valve is a little leaky. I broke it while changing the plugs. The new one wont arrive for a few days so I glued the old one back together with JB weld.
Other work done on the van last week:
New plugs.
New radiator.
New belt.
New battery.
Bypass hose.
Check compression, 120 in all cylinders.
Radiator pressure test. No leaks after replacing bypass hose and radiator.
Oil / filter.
Flush and antifreeze.
Charge AC.
Repaired cargo door lock.
Repaired shift lever, loose mechanically and OD light wire broken.
Fix windshield wiper motor.
Ignition switch key out sensor glued in place.
Always something to keep me busy
