I have a 1986 460, I want to swap the 460 into my 69, will this work? is there any sensors or anything I have to worry about? I know ill need a different bellhousing and motor mounts but any help will be appreciated!

 

If it's fuel injected you'll need to either need to convert it back to carb, or wire up the truck to run the EFI engine.

The engine stands can be found in the later model dentside trucks.

Fitment wise pretty direct as noted by 351, bell needs to be the flat top 7.5" bolt hole spread.

You have to use the transmission that comes with a 460 if it's an automatic (C6). If you put the short tail shaft on it you can use the original trans mount, cross member and drive shaft. I did that swap in about 1980 and am still driving the truck.

 

My 69 has a 360 & is a 3 on the tree, can I swap 360 out for a 460 but keep the 3 on the tree?

 

I have the correct bell housing and related parts to use a manual transmission for a 460. p m me if any one is interested.
