Backup Camera ?'s for 2015 F350

Has anyone removed the factory installed camera in tail gate emblem and relocated it? I have to remove the tail gate because I am installing a camper which requires the tail gate removal. Ford did nice job because there is a plug to disconnect with a nice dust cover to cover the connector. I can purchase a new camera from ford ok but its the mounting info in new location I need with out tearing down my current tail gate. Thanks in advance

I have added a camera and made an extension cable to use for hitching my 5th wheel. Here are some part numbers.

These are the parts I used...the prices may not be valid now.

Tailgate harness - FC3Z-14A442-A $11 + tax local Ford parts dept
Ford Camera - EC3Z-19G490-A $84 + shipping from Tasca Ford
FORD OEM Bezel - AL3Z-19H511-A $26 with free shipping on eBay

Ford Script - CL3Z-9942528-B $28 + shipping from Tasca Ford
^^^^^^^^^Above Not needed but can dress up the camera like tailgate

18/4 AWG 10FT Stranded Shielded Wire Cable - $8 free shipping off eBay.

Camera wire colors

Red power wire of backup camera to violet/grey on harness
Ground power wire on camera to black/white on harness
yellow video wire on camera to white/green on harness
video ground wire on camera to brown/violet on harness
solid black wire on harness is not used.

Hope this helps.

Do Tell on how and where you mounted for 5er hook up. This sounds like a really good idea.

Thanks for the info. couple more ? for you. When you purchased the camera 19G490 didnt the wiring come attached? The OEM camera wiring goes to a plug so when removing tail gate you just unplug? I see you used the Ford emblum bezel. If you didnt use that how can you mount the camera. Your part# are the same I was going to purchase but very curious how to mount if you dont use the Ford Bezel. I am stumped on the mounting part. Thought about moving the Licence plate to get camera straight and centered. Maybe drill a hole in licence plate for the camera to look out of??? I am curious why Ford mounted the camera so high? Better view? Were is yours mounted?
Thanks again

I bolted a mount the middle of the 72" side to side tool box. Thee mount has a 6" piece of pipe sticking up. I made a mount for the bezel to bolt on that has a 15" piece of pipe that slips over the tool box mount. I run the cable from the underbed plug to the camera in the bezel, slip the bezel mount onto the tool box mount and point it towards the 5'r hitch in the bed.

You might could make a clamp on mount for the 5'r hitch or the front bed wall or maybe a rare earth super magnet and make a mount that sticks to the bed floor.

This is the camera from front and back. There is no cable. Just a plug for the tailgate harness.

This is the backside of the bezel. It has the mount for the camera with a screw to hold it tight.

The tailgate harness is approx 2 and half foot long. That is why I spliced the 8 foot of wire into it so i could position it at the front of the bed. You may not need the extra length since you plan mounting your camera on the rear of your truck.

If you notice when you camera turns on, it points down towards your receiver hitch/ball. If you mount down by license plate, there is a chance you could ram it with the hitch on the tongue of a trailer.

Ford parts is mistaken. Cable does NOT come with camera. I can vouch for that. Some cameras did come with a pigtail.

OLD THREAD, BUT i'VE JUST RETURNED FROM THE TASCO FORD SITE
CAMERA CURRENTLY OVER $300
2 of my thin pins corroded right off (another quality product), I think I'll have to buy one of those license plate cameras then splice wires.
2 wires for camers, 2 for leds, 2 for ?
I need a camera that fits in the bezel hole

found ford camera for $40, found ford tailgate harness.
while changing harness connector by spare was corroded off also, cut the wires, spliced, soldered, heat shrunk them
camera does not fit, numbers are the same but letters on end different, one had a D other had AC. coupler comes off camera 90 degrees different. hooked up camera anyhow, still just get blue screen of death on mirror.
What kind of voltage should I be getting at end of tailgate harness. maybe I still have bad connections elseware
