TPMS on spare wheels

TPMS on spare wheels
I have a 08' F250 SD, and it has the band type TPMS. I had some extra wheels that I wanted to mount a little less aggressive tread on the front of my truck to run through the summer. I did a search for the TPMS by ford part number and came up with a replacement valve stem type TPMS that was compatible. I mounted and balanced the tires, installed the new TPMSs, inflated to correct PSI, and headed down the road. I figured I'd have to train the new sensors, but no problem. The truck acted like nothing had been changed, and the light on the dash stayed off. I'd like to recommend the metal stem TPMS that I got from a2iwheels on ebay to fellow enthusiasts that would like to get away from the band type sensors. These sensors come already programmed to the 2008-2010 trucks. Now I can put the more aggressive tread back on this winter, and not have to worry about the hassle of the light staying on, Dennis.

A short update----I drove the truck about 50 miles and the TMPS fault light showed on my dash. I retrained all four sensors, and now everything is fine. I have band type sensors on the rear and stem type on the front. The tires have different pressures on the front and rear, so, the training process is different than tires with matching pressures.
