79 f350: need transmission floor cover plate

Hello all,

I am in need of the tranny floor cover plate (pan). It is a manual transmission. The pans that are offered on the net I've seen only offer the left or right floor replacement pans. Anyone know a source for obtaining one?

I searched locally at the wrecking yards but this truck it too old.

Thanks,

Tony

Might be tough to find but your best option will be to look at ebay. There are some there now but not in the right configuration. Keep looking and somebody here might have one.

Seeing that you're talking about an F350, are you talking about the removable cover that bolts to the center section of the floor pan?
If so:
Plate, floor transmission cover
77-79 F100-350
2WD D7TZ-1012110-E
4WD D7TZ-1012110-D

Unfortunately no Ford dealer or obsolete supplier has any.

79 f350 trans floor cover plate

Thanks for the replies. It is that center piece you describe. I wrote the number down. I located one from a ford truck recycler here in phoenix. He has one and is asking $75 for it.

Seems pricey but I need it. Even if someone was selling one cheaper in another state, the shipping would cost as much anyway.

thanks,

Tony

75 is stupid...look around the "for sale" section. Someone has got to be parting one out.

Sounds like you can get raped at that "truck recycler here in phoenix" place. 75 is way crazy priced. Sounds like I need to take a load of Ford truck part to Phoenix and retire...lol

FYI it is not that big or that heavy...

Since grinner has your trans covered with the part and you get the boot "to boot", go for it.

Mark and Rich, thanks for helping a fellow FTE'er. I tried to rep you both, Mark got reps, Rich not so lucky, I'm still in rep hell for Rich so this is a virtual rep Rich.

79 f350 tranny floor cover plate. Different trans setup

Hi Grinnergetter,

I appreciate the offer. Your floor cover looks different than would fit on my truck. My Ford uses the NP435 trans. Your cover must have come off one that uses a different trans. Notice the boot on yours is very close to the edge of the cover and somewhat in the center whereas my shifter looks to be more nearer the center and higher in position closer to the top of the opening. I think you guys are right though, $75 does seem steep. I will keep looking around. Someone will be parting one out sooner or later. There were a few ads on craigslist for some parts but no cab parts. Its just a matter of time.

I really thank you though for trying.

Tony

Grinner yours looks like it is for an auto trans and that hole and boot is for the transfer case lever.

If he can not get you squared a way, (but I am sure he can), but it not PM me about one.

Yup Rich, Marks cover is for an auto/4WD. Looks like the OP needs a 2WD/4 speed cover.

OK, I have that one too but you'll have to plug the TC hole. Cutting and/or making a patch is super duper easy.
