4.0 OHV... Performance Injector Choice?
Originally put this in the Aerostar forum... prolly not the best spot for performance questions...
Hi all,
I have a '94 4.0 extended van that we bought new (460,000 mi now). I am in the process of putting another engine in it. It has a low time trans rebuild (A4LD), and the rear end was finally rebuilt a few thousand miles ago. It suffered a split in the intake air tube, and the lean condition did enough damage to eventually cause two of the exhaust seats to drop... actually swallowed one of them with almost no damage and I drove it home from San Diego to the LA area...
I bought new Chinese heads (ITM) and ported them. Removed most of the runner protrusions, and thoroughly reworked the pockets...left most of the inlet valve guide bosses to retain velocity. A machine shop local to me is going to recut the new seats, work over my valves, and put the new Stock Springs on them.
I have also already acquired a new COMP Cams "410". I plan to put new "stock" pistons and replace all the bearings etc.
I am interested in hearing what size fuel injectors would be a reasonable choice to install.... I'm leaning toward 21#. Any other suggestions or warnings gladly considered.
This has been a great vehicle, and is our utility vehicle, we use it for camping etc., and I have no plans to get rid of it.
Regards and thank you in advance,
Russ
