From the '73-'79 Ford Master Parts catalog:

N71 = 1975 and newer LN700 gas

8 = Cummins NTC 350 6 cylinder diesel. (conflicts with N71 saying this is a gas truck) SEE POST 5. ENGINE CODE IS "B"

V = Kentucky Truck Plant

EE6767 = 1979 series number.

Do you have a diesel or gas?

If it's a Canadian market truck, that would explain a mismatch.

Yes! It will most likely be a Canadian Market truck. And yes it's a gas engine.
Thanks for help!!

So it is a gas, and I am getting conflicting info on what year it is. I thought it might be a 75? HEre is the complete body plate. I am trying to track down a ignition for it.
thanks!

Posts merged. So once more from the top:

N71 = 1975 and newer LN700 gas

B = 370 4V gas V8

V = Kentucky Truck Plant

EE6767 = 1979 series number.

220 = 220 inch wheelbase

C = Special white

N710 = LN700 gas 21,000lbs GVWR

8A8 = Standard cab without butterfly hood. I do not have upholstery or seat info

M = Clark model 285V five speed direct transmission

534
53 = Rockwell (Timken) rear axle, model H-172, 17,500lbs capacity, 6.17 ratio
4 = Ford front axle, 12,000lbs capacity, without power steering. (this seems wrong. with a GVWR of 21,000, there is no need for a 12,000lb capacity front axle. Typo on the warranty plate? Typo in the copy of the MPC sample I have? Hard to tell)

21000 = 21.000lbs GVWR

87 = Body company. Sold to a company to add back of cab equipment.

Does this match up with what you have?

It's a '79. Are you looking for the ignition switch or under the hood ignition parts?

Does the title match this plate?

We are looking for the wiring harness and the piece it connects to up to the ignition lock cylinder. Left side of the dash for some reason. And yes all of that info looks correct, I will have to check into that axel comment. "4 = Ford front axle, 12,000lbs capacity, without power steering. (this seems wrong. with a GVWR of 21,000, there is no need for a 12,000lb capacity front axle. Typo on the warranty plate? Typo in the copy of the MPC sample I have? Hard to tell)"

thank you so much for your help!

It looks like it could be a sw944 ignition starter switch but want to make sure before I order it. My parents live in a small town and options are very limited
