97 Cali GPR

97 Cali GPR
So as most of you know i have a 97 California truck and ever since i have owned the truck it has had a p1391/p1393 code. Which is descibed as low amperage to left and right bank glow plugs.
The Cali trucks have a shunt that has a set resistance—anything less, and the PCM knows something is wrong and triggers the CEL. I thought it was the relay so i replaced it with a stancor a while ago, i was talking with a friend and he thought i had it wired wrong so i rewired it so i wired it how he thought would work and it melted the shunt...
So my question is, besides the GPs them selves being bad, what could cause this light to stay on? And what is the PROPER wiring for the GPR with a shunt? I have found nothing with the detail im searching for.
PS: where can i buy a new shunt?
