2005 Navigator fuel gauge inaccurate, but...
When the fuel gauge in my 2005 Navigator shows 1/8 full I still have 13-14 gallons of gas in the tank. 28 gallon tank, 15 gallons fill it at 1/8 tank, equals 13 gallons left in tank at almost empty.
I am ok with that. My concern is will it stay this way or suddenly when driving will it be accurate and I run out of fuel? Meaning I expect the usual 12-13 gallons below empty and drive it accordingly, but only have the 2-3 gallons below empty like the typical tank?
It is too expensive to fix since I have adapted to it and use my trip meter - It isn't a daily driver, I only use it for pulling my travel trailer. But I do have the worry above.
Thanks for any help.

It will stay that way. You could also reset your trip counter at each fill up. Doing so will at least give you a general idea of how many miles until you're empty.
