I understand stuff costs money, but when fair price is considered $28000 and they wont budge from $31000, what do they expect. Plus the Lariat is already priced at $30000. Not sure what I am doing about the Lariat because it is almost 80 miles from my house.

One thing to consider. Do you think you'll travel a lot of miles on vacation where a comfortable, seat is desired. If yes then get the lariat as it has bucket seats and is very comfortable on a very long drive.

Lariats are nice trucks, me I would drive the 80 miles and check it out. You'll also have some extra bargaining power. The dealer will know once you walk out the door you are not coming back.

I dont really need the Lariat package. It sure has changed alot since my dad had a 150 Lariat from 1990. I wont be doing alot of vacationing with it. My issue is what I am looking for (250 Ext Cab, Long Bed) is hard to find already. If I start to eliminate trim levels, then it cuts that list down more. Out of 60 trucks within a 80 mile radius, 3 are what I am looking for. The one fell thru already, the other has high milage on it (over 100k for a 2011) and this Lariat. I am waiting to hear back from the dealership with the Lariat since they just got it in and their comp. geek threw it up online before they had all the info to the sales guys.

Really in a perfect world, I would love a XLT with a 6.2 and tow package with my above requirements. Guess the search continues............

Did you take a look at any new trucks? When I bought mine there were some good deals to be found. If you are financing the rates are lower on new vehicles.

I wish I could afford a new one, but there is no way to swing that. I was already offered 1.9% for the one used one, unfortunately that only knocked $5 off a month from the 2.49% I can get pretty much anywhere, still out of my reach.

After cleaning my truck today, I have decided to try and private sell it and see if I can get more that way. I have seen people sell trucks on the condition that the seller must either wait a little to get the truck, or that the seller has a truck already lined up.

I also heard from the guy far away today, they are only willing to drop $400 off the truck (and 300 is because of some coupon they are running locally) and only offered $2000 for my truck. Not worth the time, and since I really dont need the Lariat, dont want to waste my time, especially since I have very little lately.

The one I posted I really want, but not willing to go to the poor house for it. They told me that as long as they have it, the latest offer stands. So if I can sell my truck for $2000 more than they offered for trade, then I can get it.

Can get a new one for ~$30K. Here is a 2016 base XLT:

2016 Ford F250 XLT, $30,699 - Cars.com

$10K seems very easy to get off. Need to find a local one for $40K MSRP or so and start dealing. Some guys are getting over $12K off on 2015 leftovers.

You could add a backup camera for under $200 to these base XLTs.

I like my 6.2 XLT I wish I had the bench in front, sometimes need to carry a bunch of people in the cab when driving around camp sites or lakes when fishing.

That one I linked to is an XL, oops. They classified it wrong. Still some XLTs for $32K or so. I think you could get one for $30-32K. Definitely wouldn't pay more than $25K for a used one!

Around here, bare bones XLT's go for over $36000 new. XL's start around $32,000 here, some $30,000 but no long beds. Problem is in order to afford the new to me truck, I need price to be around $28,500 and get $5000 trade and $3000 down with 72 month finance. I want to be in a 60 month loan, yes I know I can pay off early. Issue is dealer wont go below $30663 for the truck, $4500 and they want $4-5000 down. Cannot swing that.

Just posted my truck on craigslist....see if anyone bites I guess and just hope the truck is still there.

Don't rule out expanding your search. I bought my 08 Edge from a dealer who advertised on on Auto Trader. We priced my trade off of pictures and phone calls. They told me as long as the trade-in was as described the deal we worked out on the phone was good. I drove my 150 miles to the dealer, we test drove our vehicles did the deal and I was on my way.
I bought a used car from a dealer in California. I had the car inspected by AiM and shipped to the Midwest. I had to pick the car up at a shipping terminal to save money. All in I bought a rust free car for less money than I could have here in the mid-west.

My search radius is 150 miles and not having any luck. The truck I posted must be gone because it is no longer showing on cars.com or the dealer site. Figures, my truck is posted and I was trying to scrape together another $2000 to get it.

Well I sold my truck today. So now the pressure is kinda on (luckily I am borrowing my father-in-laws plow truck) I could not pass up the deal. Definatly got way more for her than I would have on trade, so hopefully that helps out. Plus I went to a different dealer who does locating for customers. I went in and told them specifically what I want, and also what I am willing to think about. They will begin looking on Monday.
I went that route because I expanded my radius to 200 miles and found a few trucks, but dont have the time to go look at them right now. I told them about some of those and they said they will see what they could work out with the other dealers, but cant promise anything on those.

You'll find what you want. Just keep looking. But keep your options open.
