Are 2005 parts different than 2000-2004?

Are 2005 parts different than 2000-2004?
I need to redo my parking brakes, and as part of that need to replace the brake dust shields. All the part finder websites list a brake dust shield for 2000-2004 Ford Excursions, but they all say that part will not fit my 2005 Ford Excursion. And they don't list any brake dust shields for a 2005 Ford Excursion.
If it matters, it is a 2005 Ford Excursion XLT, 4WD, 5.4L gas, all stock.
Any advice? Do I ignore the "incompatibility" warning, or is there really some difference I need to take into account?

The brake rotors are the same part number with the rotors I just bought. I imagine 04 would be ok. There are a few wierd differences with the 05--I have one. If you look for Cold Air Induction Kits, 05's are different and some companies don't make one--found out the hard way. The vapor canister mounting around the air filter is different--I don't know why--wierd

The problem comes in when some parts suppliers figure that if it fits a 2005 Excursion, then it fits a 2005 F250/350.
While the 2005 F250/350 got a remodeled front end, interior, different front axle, different front brakes, and a few other niceties that a new model line would have, The Excursion, being on it's last year, was merely upgraded with the new front end sheet metal, grill and lights. It makes sense, as they probably had a lot of the old mechanical parts still around, and there was little sense in keeping a stamping line going for one model truck that was limited in sales. Cheaper to just transfer to the new sheet metal and grill.
In any case, it has caused a lot of confusion for the part guys and us.
In almost every case, Except for the front cosmetics, lights, and interior upholstery, I have found that using the listings for 2004 Excursions work out well. However, Once in a while the parts guys will get confused with the front axle and try to sell you a Dana 60 part. (The F-series went to dana 60 before 2005) But that is pretty much only when you need a drive train part in the axle. Just make sure you tell them 10 to 15 times that it is a DANA 50 (!!!) and you should be alright.
