Any input would be greatly appreciated. My 6.0 powerstroke keeps shutting off when I hit a bump. It's like everything died and reset and i loose all memory to sterio and eveything. When I got to work and poped the hood I tapped on the battery cover by the pcm and it shut off again. Any ideas?

 

something must be loose.
check battery terminals and grounds.
also search about common wire chafing areas.

 

Driver's side battery, positive terminal. The terminal itself comes off the interconnect wire from the passenger side battery, but IIRC the small 4ga.-ish wire on a stud on the terminal is what runs the body electric. Check that terminal, stud and wire.

 

Okay, I'll be spending my lunch break at work to check this over and I'll post what I find.

 

Ok so I went back out and started the truck up. And when I knocked on the drivers side battery cover by the pcm it shut off again. So I pulled the battery and pulled the pcm plugs and checked for bad wires. (None). So I pushed them back on and made sure they were fully seated. Reinstalled the battery. Noticed my sterio wire going to battery was loose and sparking alil so I tightened that up. Started the truck and knocked on same spot to see if it would shut off and it did not... I'm hoping that's all it was but we will see how it is on my drive home from work.
