6.0 every thing is good but no start...

Have a 6.0 a guy brought in. died for him at a stop sign. Put scanner on it, FICM was 35v so I replaced FICM. Volts now at 48. ICP is 900. Fuel pressure is 50psi. No codes. No fire at all just crank. Tried a CMP. Runs on ether. Head gaskets are bad, it builds up to 15psi while cranking in degas bottle. But is that enough to make it not start? Ran ok till it died on him.

Have any codes? I wouldn't hit it with ether as you may be buying an engine rebuild.

Not after I had the low voltage codes with the old FICM. I know ether isn't the best but I thought I'd see if it would go...

FICM and crank both say they are synced while cranking.

I did pretty much everything on that check list in the link that applied due to the ICP being at least 900 psi while cranking which eliminates some of the things like HPO pressure...

maybe...

Injector o-ring (or other failures) can cause a no-start condition. One easy check for injector problems:

Pull the fuse cover under steering wheel with a flat blade screw driver turn the screws 1/4 of a turn. Pull fuses 20 FICM, 40 Fuel pump, and 103 PCM. You might need a fuse puller or needle nose pliers. Be sure there is fuel above the standpipe. If you want pull fuse 40 last and use the fuel pump momentarily to fill the fuel filter housing. Then have someone crank while you watch for bubbles. Do not crank on it for more than 10 seconds max. This is the easiest way to determine mechanical condition of injectors. What happens is combustion gas will come through the pintle seat and into the fuel gallery in the head and up into the filter.

I have done that already. Not a bubble in sight. RPMS are high enough too. It doesn't properly fire but it seems like weak attempt at firing a few times.

Is there any chance that bad hgs would make the truck die and not start again?

i guess its possible.
any coolant coming out of exhaust, or smell like it even?
just seems like if there was enough coolant to drown it out it would either hydro-lock or have easily noticeable symptoms. smoke/raw coolant in exhaust.

I would say it is a high pressure oil leak. What percentage is the IPR while cranking? Maybe the screen in the IPR has a hole in it or its gone. I didn't see what year but maybe O ring on a dummy plug. Need more diag
