Disc/Hub Size. 1987 F-250

Hey all, I recently picked up a 1987 F-250. 460, 4-speed manual, 4x4. I am going through and replacing all of the brakes on the truck. They are a bit dodgy. Got the rears done yesterday, and I know the truck has a 10.25" ring gear rear in it. I pulled the front passenger side apart to get the discs and everything replaced today. Lo and behold, the disc/hub combo I got from my local parts store is about 1" too short. They claim it is for a 4600 lb front axle. It would also appear that the hub is too small. My hub measures right about 4.25", theirs is about 3.75". Everything I can find shows that my truck should use a disc/hub combo that is about 7" tall, but mine are about 8" tall. Even the F-350 stuff appears to be about 7" tall. Also, the inner bearing race is too small on the new disc. Any idea what discs I should be using on the front?

welcome to FTE.
the F250 came with 2 front axles, the dana 44 IFS, and the dana 50 IFS.
people also regularly swap the F350 Dana 60 solid front axle in the 250's.
and there is the possibility that a dual wheel conversion was done, or some other type of axle was added.
so the first thing you have to do is determine what front axle assembly you have in the truck.

It's a D50. I ended up separating the hub from the old disc and just getting new discs. I'd like to put a D60 in it, especially since I need to rebuild the D50, but I'll probably just rebuild the D50. It's going to be a camping rig, not a wheeler.
