i have almost 300k on my 5.4 and beat the crap out of it and tow very heavy very often but it just keeps starting up the next morning begging for more. I change the oil about every 7k fuel filter every 25k and clean the air filter 1 time a year or about 25k. Other than that i don't do anything to it....i think it still has stock coolant in it...and all the rest of the fluids are stock.

My dilemma .

I would stick with the 5.4 as well. After having both a 7.3 and a 5.4 for several years I won't ever own another diesel. It cost more to maintain, operate, repair and had more reliability problems .

im leaning now towards getting a half ton CCLB again, loved the truck and I know that it will always start in the cold winters we have and as for the four times a year I haul pigs and twice a year I haul bales of hay I should be fine with a f150. Thanks for all the input everyone!

I picked up my 2011 6.2 FX4 CC XLT with 190k miles for $8300. Truck is a beast and tows my TT just fine at 9000' elevation. Hope to get 300K miles with little repairs.

Even with a co-signer, getting financing will be difficult. You must show stability; same job and residence for at least 1 year.

I "needed" a brand new truck when I graduated. That didn't happen for 19 months. It is paid for now, but I wish I had waited longer.
I agree with him. One of the worst financial moves I made coming out of college was getting that "I have to have it" one year old loaded 25,000$ pickup truck, along with the 175$ a month insurance.

My advice...wait a year or two and see how you sit. Enjoy owning a beater its nice not having to worry. Also once your 25 your insurance will be 1/2 of what it is when your 22.
