oil leaks on top of engine, 77 351 m

Trying to get all the leaks fixed, need some advice. I've changed oil pan gasket, timing chain cover gaskets, valve cover gaskets and the distributor o ring, but when the truck gets "road hot" and I stop, getting leaks at the front and rear. I noticed that there is oil on the tunnel above the bell housing, so I changed the oil sending unit and oil still puddles behind the intake manifold and eventually runs down the bell housing. Same thing around the distributor, any advice? Losing a quart about every 600 miles. It only seems to happen after driving for a while.

Sounds like the rubber seals front and rear of the valley pan are next on your list.

The valley pan is actually the intake manifold gasket, so its not hard to do, but if its the factory manifold, that bugger is heavy. Also ditch the rubbers that come with the new pan and just use blk rtv ...

X2 on sounds like your intake manifold "S" gaskets are leaking.

Get it to TDC and pull the distributor, made sure the oil pump piece stay in the pump (probably will) or comes out with the dizzy.

And yes that steel intake intake manifold is HEAVY, like 80 lbs. Use 2 people and a long piece of pipe ran thru a chain bolted to where the carb sets. Like if you had a "carb plate".

After cleaning the S gaskets areas VERY WELL, use a bit of light weight sand paper to roughen up the mating surfaces on the front and rear of the intake and block (where the S gaskets were) and then use high temp RTV like the Permatex gold brand.

Tighten and torque the intake manifold bolt in a criss-cross pattern to the required specs.

Come dizzy install time use a dab of grease applied with a screwdriver to make the oil pump shaft stand up straight, and hopefully the dizzy will go right back in.
