I'm in the same boat. My driver's side is rusted all the way though in some places. I can literally pull the floor pan out piece by piece by hand :/ I'm just trying to decide if I want to pay $100 for a reproduction from LMC or just fab one up from the sheet metal I have lying around my yard. Much cheaper that way and much more the "rat rod" style I'm trying to achieve if I use my existing materials. Luckily the passenger side looks to be in great shape!

And fyi, in my case, my truck has been handed down through the generations. So, buying a "better" example is not an option. My $.02

The patch panel would have a lot less flex than a flat sheet of steel unless you have access to a bead roller I'd spend the $100. Either way it's on the floor and not likely to be noticed.

Sorry to "hear" that. Keep up the search and I hope you find something!

I'd love to do it with road signs like I've seen on some rat rods, but acquiring one may be slightly illegal...

Maybe I'll check craigslist...

Drive the back roads at night and bring a cordless Actually if you go talk with the guys who maintain the roads they may have some old ones they have changed out.

You could also check with some road construction companies too.

If the old one's are all shot up, you won't need a bead roller.
