Broken Extended Cab Door Cables!

Anyone else have issues with their extended cab door handle breaking?! I took the door apart and it looks like the two plastic ends on the cable are broken off in the latch. I did some searching around and found a kit that is sold online that looks like aluminum replacement ends for the door cables... I'd rather just replace the door cables but they're over $40 each and I need two!

Ford Door Cable Repair Kit

Has anyone actually used one of these kits or am I just wasting my money? Advice would be appreciated thanks!

Look like the ones I bought off Ebay. Worked great. Very simple. Take your time and prep the end of the cable well, and it will all just slide together.

I can also confirm this kit works great. Bought one from their website weeks ago...follow the instructions and it should be no problem. well worth the money compared to new door cables.

I went cheap I had some bicycle cable adjusters laying around, and used them working fine. You can get a pack of 10 on ebay for about $7.00 shiped.

You can remove the door pannel with the door closed. From there you should see the cables. pull on the cables as you lift the handle.

Cables

The cable ends got here a couple days ago and as you know it is wet in Florida with our daily rains.
Have managed, after two days, to get one cable installed in the to latch. Quite a chore to do this. A bit more to it than the videos show but the next ones will be easier after the learning curve has got past.
Thanks for the utube as it was very good way for me to figure things out.
The other three cables will go a lot easier.
Thanks again.
