Rear Shocks

I relocated the rear shock brackets on the rear end of my 1956 F-100 and need to know how & where to measure to insure I buy the correct shocks. Any ideas???

Rear Shocks

All I did when I recently got new rear shocks was measure the distance from the top bolt to the bottom bolt while the truck was sitting on the ground, parked on a level surface. I called Napa, told them what year truck I have and gave them the measurement I took and they sold me a set of Monroe SensaTrac shocks that work very well.

I don't know where you moved your brace to and what the new measurement is or how much it differs from stock, but I bet if you call any/most auto stores with the (above) measurement, they can determine what size shock will fit.

BTW, my rear leafs have been de-arched about 2" (see my gallery for pix if need be) and the shocks still fit fine.

Rear shocks should be relatively simple, so don't sweat it too much. Easy, weekend warrior install that s/b done in about 45 mins with jack stands, etc.

Good luck,
Daryl
