Why would you suspect that? the the SES light didn't trip. When he gets to where he is going. I will see if he is willing to tackle that.

The 50c mod have been done , not to say something else is the problem in there.

Getting information out of him is tough . He is a turn key guy . Information is confusing. . The way he was talking now kinda sounds like a tranny issue. Like the Tc has no nuts !

 

Update. They dropped it off at dealer. The dealer just called and said they don't know and can't diagnose it because of extensive mods. . Scan gauge , egt gauge. Hho stuff he was fooling around with that is disconnected and not using. Muffler is gone . It's a freakin stock truck ! Wtf? Butt heads . I might head down to tow it for them the rest of the way home. Runs good without the camper. I think the Tc is screwed and can't handle the load of the camper. They are flipping yellow pages to find a place. Fair fax Virginia . No way will they make it home thru the pa hills up mountains .

 

Had to run to southern Pa. To rescue him . 5 hours down and 7back in one day . I pulled the camper and his truck ran unloaded . Ran fine all the way home except when we got 30 miles from home . Same deal even unloaded. Today I tossed on my $15 dollar gauge and found what I expected . Fuel pump was poop. Had 40psi and upon hitting the to peddle dropped to 10. We even got it to starve out "0". New pump on order and we are going to upgrade his prefilter and drop his tank to see what is wrong with his fuel sending unit. His fuel gauge hasn t worked consistently for the last few years . That ford dealer down there sucked **** ! Pretty much told them to beat it. you modded your truck so your on your own. So, don't mod your truck or you will be stranded with no help from that dealer . They found another dealer but they said take a seat, we will get to you next week Tuesday . O well. At least it isn't big motor work or transmission . Fuel supply is easy . It was amazing how little fuel pressure there was and it ran fine . 5psi. Until you really needed big power it would starve

I hope it is the fuel pump. You have said it already had a hutch mod?

 

Yes, The tank screens have been out for years.
Either way, we are going to drop the tank to fix his fuel gauge sending unit. Going to the drop tank, Repair sending unit, inspect, new fuel line, new napa prefilter and a new pump.


Edit. Closure. It was indeed the fuel pump that was shot. it has been replaced and truck is running good again.
