Snap Ring inside the front Hub 2005

Do any of the Tech's on here have a tool part number for a good pair of snap ring pliers that are heavy duty enough to remove the snap ring from inside an 05+ 4x4 front hub? Or what exactly do you guys use at the shop? This thing is a mean %$#%#. I have broken two pairs of regular snap ring pliers attempting to remove it. The snap ring itself is roughly 1/8" thick and copper plated. It really wouldn't be that difficult to remove, but that collar on the spline that it has to pass over is thick too and it is whipping me something serious. Any insight from the techs would be helpful on removing this beast of a snap ring. Thanks.

In case anyone asks, no it is not seized up, I can spread it open and spin it around; I am just unable to find pliers stout enough to spread open so it can pass over the collar on the axle spline. Thanks for your time.

As you have found out that is a bear of a snap ring. I use a large pair for removeing the big snap ring in some transmissions. Kinda $$$$ price tho. OTC makes one about 8 in long handles a little cheaper. Most of my tools like that are bought from the tool trucks
they come by the shop reguraly I have an account and pay them off in payments.

Snuggyworm was telling me that he had good luck with some
inexpensive ones that he picked up at Harbor Freight If I recall right.

So If you have one near you may be worth a look.
Or find a truck and chase them down.

Thanks for the replies! I finally got it!!!!! I took a long pair of needle nose pliers, and put them on my bench grinder. I ground the tips down to just shy of 1/8" and was able to work it out. Although I did pry the whole assembly out through the knuckle. It seemed as though that gave me some more play room to work it over that collar on the spline. Thanks again!! If you happen to remember that OTC number let me know in case I have to do this again. Thanks again

If I had to do this again, a good pair of snap ring pliers would be priceless!!
