I have the opportunity to buy a single cab 4x4 long bed with the 5.4 in it for around 7 grand. It is rough though, the bed has a lot of dents and the tail gate is hammered, it was a construction truck so it saw work. It has 140,000 miles on it, the tranny is an automatic and it has a bit of lag when it shifts and shifts a little hard but not very hard, something to be very concerned about? Does this sound like a decent deal? Thank yall

 

The price seems a little high to me based on the mileage and condition of the truck that you describe. The lagging transmission shifts would be my biggest point of concern.

 

I would keep looking because of the trans issue personally. My 2009 5.4 xl 2wd 150k miles was $6400 with no mechanical issues for reference.
