What Have You Done To Your Truck Today?

Not to hijack this thread, but it seems like mileage has come up quite a bit. I had a little road trip from Broomfield, CO to Pueblo, CO to pick up our boat from repair. I saw 22.2 mpg on the dash when I arrived in Pueblo. This was running regularly and keeping up with traffic and running 77 mph where I could. The final return home mileage was right at 16 mpg, this was the for the complete trip, with the boat in tow the second half. I thought this was very good, I am thrilled.

Over the last 3 days we drove the truck a bit over 500 miles round trip to Mount Magazine state park in Arkansas from our home in Okiehoma. I held the speed down to less than the limit when on the interstate, and much of the trip was on secondary roads where the speed was at 55 MPH or less. In fact, at all times I drove like I had an egg between my foot and the throttle. In spite of that the truck got 18.27 MPG, although it was telling me it was getting 19.7 MPG.
I'm not sure if there is something wrong with the truck, or if this is about average. I love the truck, but expected to get better MPG than this.

Gary that's about what my Dad is getting in his truck setup just like yours,he was thinking the same thing..
That trip up the Mnt didn't help though the trip down did... lol We go there every once in awhile to relax ourselves.. I had Dad to try a tank of mid grade to see if that would help, havent checked his mileage yet this week to see.

I would like to know a LOT more about that. If you aren't willing to post it here then please PM me. I'm really disappointed in the system in my Platinum. The HK system in my wife's MB blows mine away.

No kidding! One of the best features on our F-150 is the gigantic back seat area when the seats are folded up. I like good sound as much as the next, but in a truck, well, what's in there is plenty good for me. I won't trade that much back seat space for a sound system.

I can see that being a concern. This is what it looks like with the seats down.
