OK..my truck is 94 5.8 with E4OD Trans
The 9 pin connector to my E40d was toast. When I went to take it our of the solenoid pack; the plastic on the solenoid pack that it plugs into came with the plug.

I replaced the plug with a new one for my year.

My questions is in regards to the solenoid pack.
I have a E4OD from a 94 7.3 diesel 2wd and 94F350 5.8 E4OD 4wd.
Can I use the solenoid pack from either of these? The diesel one is dropped already (easier to get)
Is it worth the effort or should I buy new?

what about eBay. Noticing quite a few different ones for 94 down?
Same?

Does anyone have a part number for it?

All 1994 E4OD solenoid packs are the same. There are not separate gas and diesel solenoids, nor different 4x2 and 4x4 solenoids.

Any way of knowing if the used ones are bad. Anything to look for?

 

they have a very low failure rate.the odds are high your used one is good.if in doubt,take it to a trans shop to have it tested if ya want.
