Magnum (My Truck) Got Molested Yesterday

Took the family to the Rockies baseball game yesterday in my newly delivered, just 32 days old truck. We parked towards the back of the parking lot away from everyone being my new truck is a long bed. Some A--Hole decided they should take a knife to the passenger side, starting from the front finder just below the emblem all the way down the side, up over the wheel well to the end of the rear fender. The deepest part of the scratch is in the grove between the side and the wheel well. I'm really hoping the the auto body shop can somehow sand it out or something. If they can't fix the area over the wheel well I can add Bushwhacker flares and that should cover it but who knows.

Wished we would have just went shooting or fishing yesterday instead.

There is NO telling what I would do to someone that I caught doing that to my truck. You can try and beat on me all you want, but don't eff up my property just because you can. Someone needs to be taken to the woodshed as we say around here! Sorry it happened and hopefully it can be repaired quickly.

Thanks Golfmedik,

It's really sickening. But on the other hand my boys learned a very valuable lesson out of it. They learned how pathetic people can be. I know some will say it could have been worse blah, blah, blah but Im still really bumming over it.

Sorry that happened to your truck! I believe in Karma, so justice will be done. It's very sad that people would do this to someones property.

Hope you get it fixed up and enjoy your truck!

Sorry to hear that..... I would be very upset as well, but glad you used it as a learning moment for the boys!
Some ****** broke into my Excursion when it was not very old in Memphis while I was down there on business in the hotel parking lot. My dog was in a crate in the back and must have scared the crap out of the guy, cause he never made it into the truck, just punched the passenger side door lock and put a nice scratch on the door..... A little $ and time at the body shop and it was all better. Hope yours gets fixed to your satisfaction.
Enjoy the good things about the new truck.
Pat

The older I get the more people seem crazy, I really can't understand why someone would do that to a guy's truck they didn't even know, or even someone they knew and were pissed at.... I'm sorry you had such a good example of how you should respect someone else's property for your boys.

My faith in humanity and our society takes hits daily. I know how you feel and sympathize. Just another notch lower for our co-patriots.....

Sorry man. Words just can't suffice right now to describe the sorry low life that would do that. Don't they have surveillance cameras there? Seems they're everywhere we go now a days. Best of luck in getting it fixed.

Thanks Guys.

I've been working so much lately I haven't had time to take it to the body shop and see what, if anything they can do to fix it. Keeping my fingers crossed.

What a loser. Some people can't deal with others having nice things. I hate this happened especially to your new truck. I do the same thing and park far away to avoid the busy parking areas and to stay out of the way of others so my mirrors aren't a bother. You are right to be bummed, it means you care for things you own and for things others own. I have a dent/chip in the bed from those who like to mow their rocks on the edge of the highway towards a 2-lane highway with traffic. Five seconds of courtesy on that pass would have been nice.

This is when I wonder if a 360 camera system could be added or built in, so that you can see who you parked with, who approached the truck, etc.

You can get home security camera's these days with motion detection that send you an e-mail or text, and then you can go look at the camera real time with a phone app.

Maybe it's time to add that to vehicles, and have a built in DVR, and other security features. Not that it would have necessarily helped in your particular case.

Like maybe an amplifier and a electric jolt for anybody that touches your vehicle.
