D60 front options.?

Ok I have a '79 F250 lariat and am curious if the D60 front axle from say an 80's F350 would bolt into our trucks since they were still front leaf till at least '87-'88 from what I've read.

about the only thing an axle 99+ and up has in common with a 70s D60 is the fact that they are called "Dana 60", have 8 lugs, axles with u-joints, and it comes in a truck that says "Ford" on the grille.
