I have a 2001 Explorer with 44,000 miles, yesterday the 4wd and 4wd low lights started to flash six times every few minutes. Would any one know what the code means? Thanks for your help.

 

I have a '95 the 6 times every two minutes meant the 4wd system was unable to synchronize the speed of the two driveshafts. (it might also mean other errors)

does to '01 use a borg-warner 44-05 transfer case. If so one of your Hall sensors is probably nad.

when you shift into 4wd at a complete stop does the light only start flashing after you start driving?

 

The light comes on when driving in the Auto mode. I will take it out tonight and see what happens when I put it in 4wd mode. Will let you know. Thanks
