390 Rocker Arm Rails

Hello everyone,
I have a 1976 F250 with a 390 engine. I just did a complete rebuild on it and bought a new, standard size cam and lifter set for it. I then found out that my rocker arm spacer springs are broken. Would anyone know where I can either find new springs, some spacers for them, or the whole assembly? Preferably on the more inexpensive side.

The part you're looking for is P/N B8A-6587-B Spring, valve rocker arm to shaft, locating.
Unfortunately the only dealer or obsolete supplier that shows any in stock is Bob Allen Ford in Overland Park, KS (913) 381-2999. They show 10 in stock, but from them, they probably won't be cheap. The only reason I'm listing Allen is because they are the one and only showing any in stock. Allen has a bad reputation when it comes to pricing on obsolete parts.

Edit: As an alternative you could find some tubing that will slide over the rocker shaft and cut to the correct length. There are high performance solid spacers available that are basically the same thing.

Yup, he's right, it's 913 (I edited the post above with correct area code).

If you do the pipe trick I would highly recommend really dressing the ends well so as to prevent wear and any chance of metal shavings. Or look on CL and see if you can get a second set of heads or parts for your heads in case of future parts failure.

Also look into the 360 engine. SAME THING. The 360 was the same except for the rotating assembly < crank, pistons, push rods) The 360 pistons In the 390 have the 390 a bit more power / compression. Look into the FE engine forum
