my 66 f100

So i purchased a 66 f100 a few weeks ago.....i believe i got a good deal esp since the body is straight, some rust repairs were done on the inside, it fires right up, etc but there are things needing addressed but thats the whole point of a project just dont know where to begin, well i do and thats converting it to automatic.

Anyways here are some pics

Great looking truck. What a great start! Looking forward to watching your progress! Besides the automatic, what else you got planned?

Umm where do i begin with the list of things i want to do? Lol. Well i plan on addressing the interior (headliner, dash, column, a/c, carpet, radio/speakers, buckets, center console), the windows (replace the seals and front windshield), new rims, replace the badges/molding, relocate gas tank possibly, repair the bed near cab wall, full air ride all the way ariund which means at that time will address power steering and brakes (may do brakes sooner though, at least the power addition), and then maybe add some paint in there somewhere, was thinking off just adding a silver or creme color to the top half and leaving the red below the side molding but paint will be a final final thing....

So that is my list of things i want/plan on doing besides the auto trans swap.... it seems the list grows daily lol. My two thingsi really want though and will eventually happen is the trans and air ride....

Nice truck. I just purchased a 65 and your list is pretty much the same as mine. I have more body work to accomplish and will start there. I Like your paint idea, should look great.

Thanks... body work was the one thing i was trying to avoid and this truck is pretty straight so that was a plus with the purchase. The red was "recently" painted and so if i do paint i would just like to add alittle flare since i like the red

Truck starts right up. Ive only taken it around the block but from that short drive im happy with it even for no ps or pb lol. Not a fan of the column shift which shifts smoothly so reason im looking to swap to an auto but i couldnt pass up the shape of the truck and thr price i paid just because it was manual and not auto.

I love the column shift (three on the tree). But I was raised
with it. I would always take it over an auto trans. Nice truck.

Yeah i definitely was brought up on autos although i learned to drive stick etc.... if i was in a place of open roads or small population i would keep the 3 on the tree since shifting in traffic wouldnt be so bad.... im also taking into count my wife who will be driving the truck from time to time and the 3 on the tree is not ideal for her since shr has never driven manual and never will lol

Patiently waits for a auto trans lol
