Dana 70 Disc Brake Kit Came Today

Dana 70 Disc Brake Kit from RuffStuff says it has everything but the brake fluid. Be installing on 1978 F350 CS and loose the shoes.

No parking brake - One kit out their has parking brake with it but its twice as much as this one $800 vs $328. Will use the extra $400 to install a Mico lock with my rear mounted winch parking brake would not hold it anyway.

Well the 1st thing I learned is the center of the kit rotors are 5" diameter and the Dana 70 hub requires a 5 1/4" center don't know why Ruffstuff wouldn't have them turned before shipping. When I called them they said no one makes a 5" rotor opening so I would have to have them turned. Will make it work but may be last thing I buy from them.

Your blaming RuffStuff is misplaced..... It shouldn't have been surprise because RuffStuff clearly states that the rotors need to be machined right on their webpage for that kit.

Dana 70 Ford Axle Disc Brake Kit - RuffStuff Specialties

"This is the bracket for your Ford D70 & D70U, it actually fits! I developed these after the success of our 14 Bolt brackets and seeing what was available on the market and the problems associated with the others. The D70 was used by all of the Big 3 automakers at one time or another and they all had different uses and designs specifically for them. These are for a Ford D70 or D70U only!

We have been making the brackets for a long time now with complete success so why not make the complete swap kit! These also use the '75 Chevy 3/4 Ton Front Rotors and Calipers and those really cost peanuts but the rotor will need the throat opened by ~3/16".

Sorry to drag this up, I'm doing a disc brake conversion of my 77 f350. I got my kit from diy4x. I do not have clearance for the caliper. it's not even close. Did you have any issues? could you post some pictures? I don't even think a 2" spacer would help. I'm running 16.5" rims. Thanks!
