1996 F-SD Crew Cab Build

I bought a 1996 f450 crew cab powerstroke a couple years ago with a project in mind. This summer I hope to get the ball rolling with this truck. Since I bought the truck I have been tossing around ideas and collecting parts.

I bought it with out hearing it run, it was sitting for a good few years before I bought it, and 2 more years after. An oil change, fuel filter, fuel, batteries and a starter later she started right up.

I also threw a dually bed on it.

My original plans for simple FSD 4x4 conversion with a dana 60 has turned into a bigger project. I ended up buying a wrecked 05 f450 4x4 with an s110 rear and coil over super 60, or super steer as some call it. The engine/trans were already gone, I pretty much bought the rolling chassis with cab. I sold the cab and some other stuff and don't have much invested into the 2 axles with suspension and six 19.5 wheels/tires.

These axles are big, They make the d60 and 10.25 look like jeep axles

I also have a zf6 out of an 02 for the project.

The current game plan is to get the 05 axles under the truck this summer, along with the zf6.

As the money becomes available, I want to start getting parts for the engine, and hopefully build that this winter. I already have 238/100. headstuds/valve springs, and 6.0 IC. I will still need push rods, hpop, E fuel, And I am thinking an s400 turbo, and obviously a good valair or south bend clutch. Specifics to be decided later. Any input appreciated.

Lastly, a pretty paint job, aluminum wheels, nice interior, etc. but that will probably be a ways away, and devastate my wallet lol.

SO, Thats the plan. It will probably be a slow process. Especially since buying a chunk of land is in the works. getting the axles underneath it and zf6 in shouldn't be too costly since I have most of the parts.
