Living in the city is a constant battle to keep your truck safe. Any car for that matter. You would think that someone could avoid a BIG YELLOW TRUCK
But no, they need an extra reminder to stay away. Something like this:
Neither of my bumps have a receiver hitch, yet. But have seen a lot of good ideas for using them. Think someone makes a bumper for your bumper that connects to the receiver hitch.
If I am not mistaken the bumper is hinged and springed so you can use it for a step. If not, that sounds like a pretty good idea someone should patent.

Well Fish, one other good way of keeping The Men In Blue away is replacing that Amber side marker lamp with a red one. Amber=front. Red=rear.
Do you have an extra?
Found that one at the yard, better than what was on there!
Oh, guess who the first one was to crack his shins on the hitch
No I don't. Had a pair but gave 'em to a local young lad still in High School. I wanted to keep the men In blue away from him also.
Rear red ones are part number D5TZ15A201B. DC shows 'em in my feb 2013 catalog for only $10.00 each.
While I too drive around with a hitch in, it is best to check your State and local laws. Believe it or not, it's illegal in some places to leave the hitch in, so when some idiot does hit you...you can be ticketed. It was this way in Mass.

Supposedly a law in NY not to leave the ball mount in the hitch. I checked with laws and local LEOs. No such law exists.
