Heater hose fitting to intake 352

I was changing the intake, pulled the heater hose elbow out had a small tube on
the end of the fitting. Does this tube come off and if so can it be replaced or is it all made in one piece?
The top part of the fitting and threads are still good but the tube is all eaten up with rust and holes in it.

I've had to replace two - whole. That was just easier to do than trying to track down something to make it work. Plus the rest of my two were not worth saving, either. You may consider finding if you can get something, like maybe a piece of 1/2" copper tubing, to slide over the nub of what's left of the old one tight enough to hold, and/or JB-Weld that to what is left of the other. They're not that hard to get, but I get trying to make one last.

Can you run without the 1 1/4 tube sticking down in the intake and just screw the heater hose fitting in and put the 5/8 hose on it.

C5AZ-8555-B (replaced C5AZ-8555-A) ..By-Pass Tube - 5/8" O.D. x 2.50" long / Cut to Fit / Obsolete ~ Available NOS - A similar tube is available from auto parts stores.

This tube is pressed into the intake manifold...it's notorious for rusting out.

I think the OP is looking for the heater hose outlet not the bypass.

Since the OP made no mention that the tube threads into the intake manifold and said it was rusted out, I assumed this was the by-pass tube that uses a short piece of 5/8" heater hose.

This what made me think it was the one threaded into the manifold
