Rear window frame crack leaks water

Rear window frame crack leaks water
Has anyone had success patching cracks of the rear window frame? I am talking about the actual glass casing assembly and the cracks are viewable from inside the cab of the truck. I've found two small cracks and that is exactly where the water will stream in.
I was just about to pull the rear window out to replace the butyl seal when I pinpointed the cracks. So is it possible to use some RTV, form a gasket, or JB weld or something else to patch these cracks?
Are the sliding rear windows more prone to cracking? If so I'll probably replace the assembly with a solid rear window.
Suggestions as to where I should purchase a replacement window?
Thanks for any help guys.

Schmidty_dog,
You post timing is great. I just did repairs on the exact same thing on my rear slider this weekend.
The frame had 5 or 6 cracks all over the place and, in addition, the water was leaking in between one of the glass panes and the frame where the glass adhesive had failed.
My method of attack was to epoxy up the cracks as much as I can get to them, use a combination of RTV for some areas, and "spray-a-gasket" type sealer to get between the glass and the frame where the adhesive had failed.
Upon installation, I did replace the butyl seal and careful not to tighten the mounting nuts too much.
I didn't have time tonight to do a leak test, but will check it out this week.
Speaking of replacement windows, has any forum members come across a source to supply a full metal-framed sliding rear window for these trucks? That would seem a better replacement than the plastic framed one.

Two different shops tried 3 different "repairs" on my sons truck. There were 4 different cracks, allowing water inside of cab. Son was going to be installing an underseat sub box, and was doing everything he could to find a cheaper fix than a new slider. Nothing worked. Found a company here in Houston that offered a 2 year warranty on their window and install. Cost was around $275 to $300 out the door (new seal). With all the rain we have gotten over the past month, no leaking at all.
