Good Evening Nevada. Can one of you suggest a good tire cleaning product that doesn't take a bunch of scrubbing. I just polished out my 73 Galaxie, but the tires need to be cleaned up. The blue is still on the whitewalls but the tires are 5 years old. Any suggestion would be appreciated. I posted a couple of pics so you can see how bad they are.
Thanks.
if they are that old you will be lucky to get the blue out. Try some of the purple power cleaners with a good scrub brush. once you get as much as you can off then use the shire/tire magic junk.
Thanks Guys. I have some Awesome with Oxy Clean maybe I'll try that. I was hoping for a spray & wipe solution. I'm lazy, old, & tired. This is the first vehicle in a 100 years I have ever even thought about cleaning tires. I have driven mostly trucks in my life & I washed them every rain storm, that way I could drive them dry when the rain stopped.
I had to break out the brush & good ole Comet & had to scrub. They came out OK. Good enough for me. They look better. Tomorrow I'm replacing the lower radiator hose. It is the OEM hose with the factory clamps. This is just a toy for us. Not to mention I can work on it fairly easy. It is a real cruiser. Big Ole Boat that floats down the road.
Thanks for the suggestions.
Nevada sun doesn't help, I use Bleach White, sometimes SOS pads, but they never get "white" once they start to fade.
Craig, that car is in amazing condition! I us the same, called Bleche Wite. Usually does a great job getting road grime off, and bringing out the white.
