I was just wondering at how many miles do most of you folks change your oil? I'm sure some at 3000 and then all the way up to ?

I was wondering the same thing. I just turned 15000 and did the first 2 changes at 5000 and 10000. My third is due but the truck says I have 46% oil life left. Run full synthetic.

 

I change ours every 5K miles, I use Ford Fast Lanes so it gets t gets the Ford blend.

Those seem like some good numbers to change at so far.

 

I set the oil reminder at 90% and that's about 6000-6500 miles, using the Motorcaft 5w-20 synthetic.

 

I use full synthetic royal purple and change mine every 10,000km or 6000mi. I do a lot of miles for work and my changes are about every 6 weeks with that mileage.

Every 5K miles. Take it to the dealer and they put in the Motorcraft blend. The "oil minder" in the Ford truck is just an odometer count down. It does not actively "monitor" the oil quality in any way.

 

That's why I like it, no stickers on the window and remembering what was the mileage it was changed at.

 

Did the first at 1k. The next will be at 3k, then I will run it on a 3-4k interval.

I overkill everything in life.....

I wouldn't want to push it much over 5k. I will only put roughly 10k on it a year and then after next year prolly 5k a year.

 

8000km at the dealer or I should say every 8 months or so as I was only at 4000km last oil change as the truck gets very little use anymore.

 

I sent samples to Blackstone at 5,000 and 10,000 miles ad their analysis was a clean bill of health. They told me to quit changing my oil so often. LOL
