Seems that with the new 1705 with three settings, they now advertise hp/torque figures for the 94-97's. The first 1705 advertised 60 and 80 hp for the 99 and up's and were not specific about the 94-97's.

So my questions are:

What was the Tow Safe setting on the original 1705 for 94-97's? 40 or 50 hp?

Did the new version add the 40 hp setting because EGT's were getting too hot with the old Tow Safe, or did they add the 50 hp setting for towing moderate loads?

I tow a 7,000 lb. travel trailer.

The 94-97s got about 35-45HP, and 50-70HP, depending on your ECU code.

The new version has completely different tuning for slightly more HP with lower EGTs.

Looking forward to the SCMT I ordered from you last week. Since our first outing will be towing 7k over the Rockies, I'll start with the 40 hp mode. If it stays cool enough I may try the 50 on the return trip (I have exhaust mods).

I'll be watching EGT's and I guess I should read Superchips instructions too!
