Dog dish color
Okay, so what is the color of hubcaps correct for a '60? Is it Silver, Light Gray? Non-metalic? Metalic? I finally got a hold of a set but they were plastered with lovely old paint that I have removed and have them now in primer. Are the red letters the same color as the Red valve cover for the '60?
I can find various pics but hard to tell from that, there are great pics in this thread concerning them:https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...0-hubcaps.html

I did extensive research on this for my '59. I looked at dozens of photos and advertisements from 1959 and 1960.
My conclusion - the original dog dish hub caps were painted with metalic silver paint with bright red lettering, same color as the badges on the side of the truck. So that's what I went with, and it looks great.

That is sort of what I was thinking, have sprayed two different silvers that weren't right so far. Yesterday I finally gave in and bought light Ford gray at the tractor place. At least it will be a tough paint. I don't have pristine colors anyway but kind of wanted to know what they were suppose to be. I have the red but the silver was tough to determine. I'll try to post a pic of the finished product when it happens.
