My 87' Olds Cutlass was a sharp car, wasn't fast by any means (highway geared) but sounded great and pulled off 20 mpg when I fed premium to the Olds 307\4-spd auto. Was loaded with nearly every option, just a checkmark away on the buildsheet from a 442.
Sold it to get my 97 F-150 and a halfsies ownership on a car trailer
'47 Ford business coupe that I co owned with a HS friend. It ran decent with a flattie and three speed. We bought it for $35 and sold it about a year later for $45. If I remember right we drank the profit.
There are some times I wish I still had my '71 Chevy C10. It had several electrical issues and needed a lot of body work, but it was my first vehicle that I bought for myself. I also miss the '73 CJ5 I drove in high school. It was Dad's Jeep and I'm sure he was happy to see it go when he eventually sold it. It was fun for me, but not so fun for Dad since he was the one constantly paying for parts and repairs.
so this thread died.. So, lets modify it. If you could own fully outright any vehicle on, or off the market, and the rules were you must keep it, and drive it daily, and own it for 30 years, what would it be?
I believe my choice would be a 32 Ford similar to the one in American Graffiti. Only change would I would want to consider the 5 window version, to be able to carry family.
