Just bought an 83 f-250 6.9 4 speed 4x4 runs great when I can get it started but it starts hard warm within 10 minutes of running it and will not start cold without ether at 65 degrees I have all 8 glow plugs working good compression and 2 good batteries, it also dies occasionally when I let off of the throttle or between shifts

time for an injection pump.meanwhile, you can carry some room temp water with you and pour it over the ip to start the truck when warm.
to resolve the stall out on decel, remove the filter, fill it with atf,run the truck for a min and shut it off for the night.the next day she'll no longer do that.
