Mine did this. It was the drivers door master control switch assembly. Easy R&R and not very expensive from RockAuto. Find someone else close with an excursion and swap theirs into yours to verify.

If you read the wiring diagrams, they will show the two switches in the back doors route through the driver's door master switch for "permission" to roll the window up and down.
When the driver's door module goes bad, it will usually go bad for one door at a time. Both my passenger windows stopped working before I figured it out. Borrowed a buddies door switch and verified it. 10 minute fix with part.

New switch came in yesterday and no change Switch made an odd noise and didn't want to stop when the drivers side window was all the way down so I'm returning it so at least I'm not out that money. I wouldn't mind keeping it if it worked right though, having new switches with fresh paint and plastic is nice

The new one you mean? I doubt it would have the same issue as the last one.

Ok, I want to get this fixed today. Where should I start now? Wife just left for work so I can pull the truck into the driveway and dive right in.

This is a problem only inherent in a V10, get a 5.4 and all is well.

I can't help too much since I am at work right now but I would start by checking for power and ground on the wires going into the motor. Almost certainly there will be something missing, otherwise it is a bad motor, but need to know what is being lost and then isolate where it is lost.

So have you checked the wiring and voltage? I would try to do a continuity test on the wires to see that you do not have a break in them.

I've tested the motor on the battery with alligator clips and the motor works in both directions fine so I know it's not the motor or switch. It has to be in the wires, I just have no idea where to start Going out of town this weekend and leaving tomorrow so I won't be working on it again until Monday.
