Dave,
I was not thinking your type of lesson learned but it too is a lesson learned.
Years ago I had a 4 1/2 " grinding wheel come apart taking one large piece to the chest knocking the wind out of me. Those guards that many/most of us remove do have purpose!

I love your truck Bill .
Always good to have the mod cons of updated driveline and suspension , but I love the way your truck still kinda looks stock from the outside .
A beautiful job .

That's a beautiful truck, Bill, and tastefully done. I like the nearly stock outside appearance, with the modern drivetrain.
May I ask what kind of seat that is, and is it comfortable?

Really good looking truck Bill!

No matter what suspension we put in one of our trucks they will never drive like a modern sports car/sports sedan without MAJOR structural and body mods. The chassis roll center is quite a bit higher than the average sedan and the seating level is substantially higher yet. Because our heads and butts are higher up, angular displacement says that they move a far greater distance for the same amount of body roll, fooling our butt-o-meter into thinking the truck is rolling considerably more. To a lesser extent the same thing happens when going over a bump. Try riding in a heavily lifted truck, and it will feel like it is going to roll over even around a low speed turn and buck you out of the cab when going over bumps.

Tony,
I took the seats out of my former `1990 Ranger. The seats are very comfortable to me. I like them better than my current 2003 Ranger seats. I purchased fabric as close as possible to the seat side fabric for upholstering the doors and the rear of the cab. My first time of doing my own upholstory. I did have a friend do some stitching where necessary.

Bill I just checked the website below that has a comprehensive list of cruise nights and car shows in Maine. I didn't find one single cruise night anywhere nearby to you. A couple of shows are nearby though.....June 27th in Bowdoinham. July 5th in Bath, within the next month or so. I like to see the car & airplane events at Owl's Head Museum but my 4:86 rear gears would have a hard time doing that distance. Actually anyplace that requires highway speeds is not practical, especially with the summer tourist traffic. If I'm not worrying about over-revving the engine I'm cussing at some driver who is drafting my tailgate thinking that I'm going slow just to irritate them. I do occasionally attend a cruise night in west Cumberland on Tuesday evenings that is hard to beat. Anywhere from 75 to 150 cars show up depending on weather. Two ice cream stands, raffles, door prizes, etc.

Anyway, we can figure something out. The season has just begun. (yep, to you out west and down south folks we have a very short season. )
Any other Mainer's on here reading this?

Tom,
I could do Cumberland. Next Tuesday looks like a potential washout. Any other Mainers out there?
